THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day Weekend. I want to thank everybody for using Jenny's Family Day Care !!!! I feel like one of the lucky Day Care Providers because every time I go to class; I hear that they are loosing children because of the parents loosing jobs or cutting back. I just want you all to know how much I appreciate you using Jenny's Family Day Care! Thank you and have a great summer !!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Guess what I had to do in February and now - change the contract AGAIN. In February - the state has new laws starting in January of 2011 - which I have to go by. Then I had to change it again because of the way I am running my business. I actually know some providers that change it every couple months - I don't feel so bad now. Sorry. |

 Hi Everybody ! Can you believe that we are in the month of March already? Time Flies by when you are having fun!!!! Anyway - I wanted to post a little note about my kiddies at JFDC - they are great at cleaning up !!!! We have a little fun with all the toy boxes (3 toy boxes) by emptying all the toys. For a while, the kids play around the toys and goof off and of course play with all the toys all over the floor (cannot see my rug very well). So we take wipes and they help me clean the toys to put back in 2 toy boxes; one toy box they can still play with. We also pick out books each week for our themes; next week is "St. Patrick s Week" ! They take ALL the books off the shelves - and I mean ALL the books; and we look for books with green (our color for the month - different colors every month) and we look for books about St. Patrick s Day (or what ever our theme is for the week). It keeps the kids busy and having fun at the same time - they also learn "Responsibility" - ssssssshhhhhhhhhh !!!!! Have a Great Weekend ! Spring Ahead This Week !!! |

There are soooooo many things you can do with the kids when they have off from school to keep them occupied. 1. If you have a computer, let them go on a kids website w/learning games - there are sooo many for free. 2. If they are not into computers, sit down with them and color in a coloring book or pages to color. 3. If they are not into any of that - let them help you clean. Lots of young kids love to clean as long as it is not there own room. 4. How about cooking or baking with you. 5. If none of that works - go to your local library and see what programs they have that are free or very inexpensive. Sometimes just letting them play at the library is nice also on a rainy day. RESPONSIBILITY Happy Winter! We are in the middle of the winter season; cold, cold, cold. I wanted to let you guys know that in Jenny’s Family Day Care, the kids have a Responsibility Chart to work on every day! Yes – even at a young age they can have responsibilities – but the trick is to make it fun and learning at the same time! Please see below: Hold the Flag - for the Pledge of Allegiance Kitchen Helper - they help clean the table Line Leader – when we go outside in the back or front Get Mats for Nap Time – 2 kids will help hand out the mats Library Books – at reading time and before nap time Water Plants – this responsibility is for all the kids at the end of the week Every Friday “Toys” – Every Friday we empty all the toys out of the toy boxes and put the stuffed animals in a pile near the washing machine. Then they take wipes (baby wipes – which is safe for kids) and they help me wipe down all the toys! There is a lot more we do on a daily/weekly/monthly basis – the way to keep a child learning, busy and active is a Responsibility Chart ! I sometimes reward them at the end of the week, depending on what we work on. |

Well - Happy Friday to you all ! Turkey Day is around the corner and I have to say; this week was great with the kids learning about Native American Week!!!! They had fun dancing, singing, crafts and talking about the Native Americans! Next Week is "Pilgrim Week" !!!! Hopefully, they will be occupied with that as well ! I think Beagles are sooooo adorable!!! It is national dog week this week in the united states, September 26th - October 1st. Pets make great companions (in my opinion). Anyway - the kids get to do show and tell this week on Monday, Thursday and Friday. I hope they bring a dog!!! We can talk about the colors, size and of course, what kind of pets you have or you would like !!!! |

Hello Moms and Dads ! Happy Monday - I am going to be posting a blog once a week about the theme we are going to work on. This week is Fire and Safety Week! The kids will be learning about Stop - Drop - and Roll, learning why we have a fire drill once a month, why fireman ride a fire truck, why we have to call "911" for emergencies and of course; what is an emergency?
